About Our Grants
Our grantmaking model is designed to identify and champion organizations that build resilience in children and families. We leverage a unique, multidisciplinary collaboration: HFC Academic Consultants (a global network of social welfare experts) lead HFC Grants Committees composed of dedicated professionals from the Alternative Investment industry. This model ensures our investments target rigorously effective and high-impact programs with proven solutions that protect children and strengthen communities worldwide.

What We Fund

Help For Children grants are made to charitable organizations that address child maltreatment through prevention or treatment across various critical stages. HFC grants are designed to provide essential support for ongoing programs, program expansions and new initiatives, and time-limited projects, such as the writing and production of a sexual abuse prevention workbook.
What We Fund
Our grants support organizations that demonstrate proven effectiveness within four key impact areas:
Direct Services: Providing immediate, hands-on support through counseling, group work, home visits, mentoring, coaching, and case management.
Education: Building knowledge and skills via educational programs for children, parents, and communities, and professional training for practitioners.
Advocacy: Influencing systems and public awareness through policy development, legal advocacy, and public service/digital campaigns.
Research: Conducting rigorous qualitative and quantitative studies to generate data and inform the future of child abuse prevention and treatment.
What We Do Not Fund
Help For Children does not fund lobbying activities, annual fundraising drives and projects undertaken by individuals. HFC also does not make multi-year grants.

Application Procedure and Deadlines
Help For Children uses a two-stage process for the grant application:
STEP 1: Letter of Intent
New applicants: Eligible organizations must submit a letter of intent (LOI). After internal review, selected organizations will be invited to proceed to Step 2. All declined LOIs will be acknowledged.
Current grantees: Grantees reapplying for the same program skip the LOI process. While reapplication is encouraged, continued funding is not guaranteed.
The Letter of Intent (LOI) submission for the 2027-2028 grant cycle is now open. The funding period starts on July 1, 2027 and ends on June 30, 2028. The application will be closed on January 15, 2027 at 5:00 pm EST.
STEP 2 (by invitation only): Request for Proposal
Process: Invited applicants submit a full Request for Proposal (RFP) with supporting documentation.
Review & Decision:
- All proposals are reviewed by our Grants Committee which consists of HFC staff, Board members, and HFC Academic Consultants.
- Site visits and/or presentations to the Committee may be requested.
- Final funding decisions are made by the Grants Committee, guided by HFC Academic Consultants.
Notification: Applicants are notified of their application results by July 1.
